Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO), a prominent national think tank dedicated to advancing best practices in workplace health and well-being.

With a strong emphasis on research and education, Karen and the HERO team collaborate with members to demonstrate the value of a comprehensive health and well-being employer ecosystem, forging connections between scientific insights and practical implementation. Prior to her current role, Karen served as HERO's Vice President of Education and Director of Operations, where she played a pivotal role in fostering member engagement, expanding the organization's reach, and spearheading innovative educational programs.

Additionally, Karen has successfully managed grant-funded initiatives, including a multi-stakeholder collaboration to support employer involvement in community health initiatives and a project funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation aimed at identifying common measures of community health. Karen's impressive contributions to the non-profit sector span nearly three decades and include the development and dissemination of numerous publications and educational conferences. Her exceptional dedication and expertise in workplace wellness were recognized in 2021 when she was awarded the Leader in Workplace Wellness Award by the Global Wellness Summit. Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

HERO is a national non-profit dedicated to identifying and sharing best practices in the field of workplace health and well-being (HWB) to improve the health and well-being of workers, their spouses, dependents and retirees.
